Monthly market selling produce, food, plants and crafts from the Huon Valley including fresh-picked fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, jams, pickles, honey, wine, cider, cakes, goat meat, olive oil, plants, seedlings, herbs, fuchsias, flowers, alpaca fleeces, ceramics, textile crafts, clothing, pictures, cards and jewellery. Friday 5 March to Sunday 7 March 2010 – Lymington Road, Cygnet
This long-established sailing regatta is now the largest keel boat regatta in Tasmania. Enjoy the racing at the Port Cygnet Sailing Club or cruise down for the weekend and be part of the fun.

Southern Open Vineyards Weekend

Saturday 6 March to Sunday 7 March 2010 – Various venues
Vineyards and wineries throughout Southern Tasmania will open their doors to the public for cellar door sales and tastings. This is a fantastic opportunity to taste wines from the Huon Valley and D'Entrecasteaux Channel, as well as the Coal River Valley, Derwent Valley and East Coast. Why not visit some of Tasmania's boutique vineyards, including many generally not open to the public. Some offer a variety of food and entertainment.

A Taste of the Huon

Sunday 7 March to Monday 8 March 2010 – Ranelagh Recreation Ground, Ranelagh
This famous annual event celebrates the diversity of produce from the Huon Valley, D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Far South and Bruny Island areas. There will be food stalls, new events, cookery demonstrations using local produce, and entertainment from local artists and musicians. Come and feast on some mouth-watering treats.

Focus on Franklin

Friday 26 to Sunday 28 March 2010 – Various venues, Franklin
The fourth annual Focus on Franklin event offers something for everyone. Commencing with the Mad Hatters Ball and Tea Party with supper at the Palais Theatre on Friday 26 March, the event will offer an array of entertainment ranging from street theatre, wine tastings, progressive dinner, Magic Light Show, lit flotilla of boats on the Huon River, market, children’s events, and music and games for all ages.

Tasmanian Forest Festival

Sunday 28 March 2010 – Heritage Park, Geeveston
The Tasmanian Forest Festival is in its sixth year, and showcases the forest industry, timber crafts, apiary and many other groups who enjoy the state’s forests for employment and recreation. The festival includes the 2010 International Chainsaw Carving Grand Prix and the popular ute muster.

Huon Tasmanian Salmon Port Esperance Regatta

Friday 2 April to Sunday 4 April 2010 – Port Esperance Sailing Club, Dover
A three race series for both keel boats and dinghies. There will also be events for classic yachts of yesteryear and cruisers. Onshore music and entertainment is planned for Saturday and Sunday nights, as well as fine food and drinks.

The Apple and Salmon Race Day Carnival

Sunday 17 October 2010 – Huon River Foreshore
Rotarians release approximately two hundred pre-sold numbered artificial salmon into the river. The excitement is then on as the tide carries the salmon to the finishing line. Shortly afterwards, numbered red and green apples are released in a similar fashion.

Huon Agricultural Show

Saturday 13 November 2010 – Ranelagh Recreation Ground
Entertainment will include chainsaw carving, reptile display, ute show, vintage machinery, dog high-jump, country music bands, plus a full range of carnival attractions.

Cygnet Folk Festival

Targa Wrest Point

Middleton Country Fair / Expo Scarecrow Competition

Saturday 5 February 2011 – Middleton Hall Grounds
On the Channel Highway, you will become aware of scarecrows on fences, in paddocks and up trees! These are no ordinary scarecrows. Their job is to win the scarecrow competition at the Middleton Country Fair. With over 70 stalls, there’s entertainment for everyone.
