Last Sunday of the month, September to April, Palais Theatre, Franklin
Monthly market selling produce, food, plants and crafts from the Huon Valley including fresh-picked fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, jams, pickles, honey, wine, cider, cakes, goat meat, olive oil, plants, seedlings, herbs, fuchsias, flowers, alpaca fleeces, ceramics, textile crafts, clothing, pictures, cards and jewellery. Cygnet Folk Club meets on the first Friday of the month

Open Mic. happens on the last Friday of the month. Local acoustic musicians have open jam sessions on the other Friday evenings. There is always music on Friday evenings as well as drinks and food.

From October to December, we will be having Saturday evening performances by local musicians.
Starting: 1 October with Hemlock: A few talented local musicians who individually play a wide range of styles, and as a group really do beautiful Celtic melodies and jaunty Irish tunes. This coincides with the re-opening of our traditional Black Swan Restaurant, Café & Wine Bar. From October will be open to the public for drinks and dinner from 5pm Thursdays to Sundays or otherwise by appointment for group bookings (or for our own accommodation guests as requested).

Artists Behind the Action

Church Studio Franklin invites you to view Artists behind the Action, an exhibition of prints and artworks to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Huon Valley Environment Centre.
Artworks are for sale and the proceeds will be donated to the centre for it's ongoing work in defending the forests of Southern Tasmania.

Garden Party

Saturday 24 March – Jetty House B&B in Southport – from 1.30pm
Tickets for the Party are $25 per adult, $10 for aged 15 and under, under 5s free and included in the cost is cups of tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches. For entertainment, chamber music will be performed by local musicians as well as readings from Lady Jane Franklin's journal. The Jetty House is a beautiful, historical home built in 1875 and is a superb setting for a delightful afternoon. Come along and have a turn around the garden.
We will sell raffle tickets on the day and it will be drawn later in the afternoon – prizes are sure to please!
This event is a fundraiser for the Southport Community Centre and all money will go towards a commercial kitchen for our Centre.
